NEWSDAY’S LONG ISLAND PARENTS & CHILDREN’S “READY, SET, LEARN – TRY, TRY AGAIN!” DVD SWEEPSTAKES RULES 

OFFICIAL RULES

1.  ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Only residents of Long Island, NY (Queens, Suffolk and Nassau counties) are eligible to enter Newsday’s Long Island. Parents & Children “Ready, Set, Learn – Try, Try Again!” DVD sweepstakes (hereinafter the "Sweepstakes”). Entrants must be 18 years or older. Employees of Newsday, Island Publications, Inc., Hoy, amNY, and their advertising or promotion agencies, parent companies, service providers, agents, officers, subsidiaries or affiliates, or any other persons or entities directly associated with the Sweepstakes (hereinafter "Sweepstakes Entities") and members of the immediate families and/or persons living in the same household as such persons, are ineligible to win the Sweepstakes.

2. HOW TO ENTER: Log onto www.liparent.com between May 8, 2008, and May 15, 2008, and look for the “Ready, Set, Learn” logo. Click on the logo to enter for your chance to win. You will need to register with the following information: name, address, age, daytime phone and valid email address.  If the entry is incomplete, it will be disqualified for the contest.  LIMIT OF ONE ENTRY PER PERSON AND PER E-MAIL ACCOUNT. By entering, contestants grant the non-exclusive right to the Sweepstakes Entities to post on websites and to publish in future publications. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an e-mail entrant of the Sweepstakes, the entry will be deemed submitted by the e-mail account holder. If multiple entries are received from the same e-mail account or address, only the first entry will be considered and subsequent entries will be disqualified. By entering, contestants release Sweepstakes Entities from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the contest entry, ownership or use of the prize.

3. PRIZES:  Five DVDs of “Ready, Set, Learn – Try, Try, Again!” will be awarded.  Each winner also will receive a Paz Finger Puppet too.      

4. DRAWING AND NOTIFICATION: The drawing will be held  Friday, May 16. All entries received by May 15th will be considered for the prizes.  The winners will be notified by phone and/or e-mail. The Sweepstakes judges' decision is final and binding in all respects.  If potential winners cannot be reached by the daytime phone number provided on the entry, or if he/she is found to be ineligible, or if he/she cannot or does not otherwise comply with these Official Rules, or if the winners are unable to use the prize, an alternate winner will be selected by Sweepstakes judges based on the same criteria. All entries become Sponsor's property and will not be returned.

5. GENERAL CONDITIONS: All Federal, state and local laws and regulations are applicable. All taxes (including, but not limited to, income taxes) are the sole responsibility of winners. Prize winners may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and a Publicity Release (Affidavit/Release). Sponsor may provide Affidavit/Release to winners on arrival to pick up their tickets, or via fax. Non-compliance may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be chosen. Return of prize, prize notification, or Affidavit/Release as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Entry and/or acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor and its licensees and affiliates to use the winner's name, address (city and state) and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, including without limitation on-line, unless prohibited by law. All entrants agree to comply with these Official Rules. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Sweepstakes and any person who does not comply with these Official Rules, will be ineligible for the prize. Sponsor at its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes, without liability. Void where prohibited, restricted or taxed by law.

6. DISCLAIMERS: Entrants agree that the Sweepstakes Entities shall not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance/possession and/or use/misuse of the prize, participation in Sweepstakes, or any technical malfunctions of the telephone network and/or transmission line, computer on-line system, computer dating mechanism, computer equipment, hardware, software, or any combination thereof, or any entries that are late (including delayed data transmissions), tampered with, garbled, incomplete, misdirected, lost, mutilated, delayed, corrupted, mechanically duplicated, illegible or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules. Entrants also agree that the Sweepstakes Entities are not responsible or liable for any injury or damage to an entrant's or third person's computer related to or resulting from Sweepstakes and its prize. The Sweepstakes Entities are not liable for damage to a user's computer system in any way due to an entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes or downloading any information in connection with the Sweepstakes, including without limitation any server failure, lost, delayed or corrupted data or other malfunction.

7.
