Successful movies, books, toys, games and a concert apparently weren’t enough for High School Musical. The newest addition to the lucrative franchise is, High School Musical the Ice Tour. For those who haven’t joined the trend, High School Musical is a Disney channel movie that has become incredibly popular worldwide. Its bubble gum story and catchy songs have made it a winner for parents and children a like. This past summer the sequel premiered to record breaking ratings. A third installment is already in the works.
The ice tour combines the two popular films. Though the actors aren’t in it, the show features world-class skaters playing the characters all to a soundtrack. Each act is 45 minutes, the first being the original film and the second being the sequel. Including fireworks, dancing, a large cast and some impressive figure skating, the films come to life in front of you. Every song your child has grown to love is featured during the fast paced show.
“It was good,” said Chris age 7, from Hicksville. “My favorite part was `I Don’t Dance.’” His mother Trish enjoyed it as well and highly recommends seeing it. “One thing we liked is that it’s very clean and fun. It’s entertaining for the whole family.” There’s something for everyone, boys and girls alike. From the sports scenes to the love story to the impressive moves by the skaters, you’re guaranteed to leave with a smile. The show is currently touring world wide through May.
